“It is my honor and privilege to nominate these young men and women to attend a United States Service Academy,” said Congressman Griffith.
Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement today announcing those receiving congressional nominations from his office to the United States Service Academies:
“It is my honor and privilege to nominate these young men and women to attend a United States Service Academy,” said Congressman Griffith. “Southwest Virginia has a rich tradition of military service. I commend the willingness of these nominees to serve our country as the next generation of military leaders as well as their desire to receive a superior education at one of the Academies. Congratulations on receiving this nomination and best wishes for future success. I also extend my gratitude to the Ninth District Service Academy Nomination Board for their input in this process.” Ninth District Nominees* United States Air Force Academy Dionys Beck – Blacksburg Autumn Richards – Gate City United States Merchant Marine Academy Maria Broughman – Covington United States Military Academy at West Point Robert Martin – Tazewell Ezekiel Shaffer – Radford United States Naval Academy Joshua (Williams) Amodeo – Blacksburg Seth King – Stuart Charles Long – Abingdon Colston Polly – Big Stone Gap Cody Wright – Pulaski *In order to receive an appointment, nominees must meet all entrance requirements of the specific Academy.
